Why We Love Margaritas

Hey everyone, happy National Margarita Day! This February 22nd, we’re raising our glasses to one of the coolest cocktails ever mixed. Just as summer brings to mind the beach and the sun, tequila instantly reminds us of the Margarita. It’s the ultimate tequila cocktail, blending tradition, flavor, and party vibes that have taken the world by storm. Whether the Margarita started in the 1930s or 1940s, in Mexico or somewhere else, one thing’s for sure: everyone loves a good Margarita story.

The Margarita Now: A Global Sensation

The Margarita has evolved from its classic roots into a global phenomenon, adapting to new tastes and trends, proving it’s more than just tequila and lime. It’s a canvas for creativity, a perfect mix of celebration and chill. In 2024 alone, over 60 million glasses were served worldwide, showcasing its staple presence in virtually every bar across the globe. And the most interesting Margarita recipe we’ve come across? Beto & Son’s The Flora Liquid Nitrogen Margarita— “a butterfly pea flower cocktail steeped with herbs and berries that create layers of -320 degree frozen floral flavors,” as the restaurant shared in a recent Instagram post. If you’re ever in Dallas, be sure to visit them and try this spectacular drink firsthand!
